Program

Youth Futures

A new Queer or Transgender Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (QTBIPOC)-led initiative at PPT that seeks 10-12 young leaders, artists, or advocates who wish to care for our collaborative futures together.

About the Program

Calling all QTBIPOC youth ages 18 to 29 to join the first cohort! We've got six months of bi-weekly community-building workshops and a Fall weekend retreat at Toronto Island for you to learn more about yourselves in solidarity with each other. This program is about dreaming, encouraging growth and development, and advancing existing interpersonal brilliances, interdependent connections, and socio-political feelings. Collectively we hope to gather in space, time, and the contexts of community advocacy or leadership.

Sometimes as QTBIPOC youth, we learn self-advocacy for survival, but we hope that we can share the grief, the joys, as well as the magic of leadership together:

From cooking and sharing food, mobilizing to go to rallies and community events, from painting banners, and getting headshots taken, to workshops on consent, digital safety, sexual health, substance harm reduction, mutual aid, and transformative justices.

What does the future needs more of? You. We believe the future is queer, decolonial, and trans. Youth futures are is not only needing but wanting a life across communities, beyond survival.

May we seed revolutions in solidarity, to grow the flowers that we deserve for each other.
