Your Role in Defending Youth Futures

A Year on the Frontlines

Community support is the only way we're able to show up time and time again. Yes, we provide free and accessible primary, mental, and sexual healthcare. But we are also taking to the streets and standing alongside our communities as we fight for safer youth futures.

This is what we've been doing and can continue to do with your support:

  • Cultural Resistance: Our April screening of the documentary Marea Verde at Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema wasn't just an event; it was a statement against global attacks on reproductive rights, drawing in community members and key activists to share, listen, and learn.
  • Protest and Presence: In May, alongside incredible student-led groups, we were standing firm at Queen's Park, in defense of sexual, gender, and reproductive rights in the face of rising anti-choice hatred.
  • Trans Youth Advocacy: Our September statement, in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Ottawa and the SHORE Centre, was a direct response to governmental threats against trans youth. We're not just advocates; we're human rights defenders.
  • Countering Hate with Action: Joining the September 20 counter-protest, our team stood against the tide of anti-trans and anti-2SLGBTQ+ sentiment. We marched not just for rights, but for the respect and safety every young person deserves.
  • Indigenous Solidarity: Our involvement in the March for the Land was a commitment to action, supporting Indigenous communities and echoing their calls for justice and greater decision-making power about their lands.
  • Expanding Support Networks: Launching our post-abortion support group and social prescribing program wasn't just about care; it was about creating spaces for healing and connection, especially for those marginalized by mainstream narratives.

Why We Need You

While it pains me to say it, we know this fight - the fight for safer youth futures - is far from over. The current landscape is fraught with escalating threats to freedom, autonomy, and identity. Your support isn't just helpful; it's crucial for us to keep fighting against these injustices and provide unwavering support to those most affected.

The Power of Your Donation

Your donation fuels our activism and service delivery. It makes us bigger and louder and stronger. It's not a drop in the ocean but a ripple that turns into waves of change. It's a stand against oppression, and a commitment to health equity.

Your Impact

Your donation today means a young person can make informed, autonomous decisions about their body and health. It means a safer, healthier community tomorrow. It means standing together against the tides of injustice and fear. It means resistance. It means hope for youth futures!

Join Our Fight

This is more than a call for donations; it's a call to action in the struggle for a future where every youth can live authentically and safely. Your contribution today is an act of resistance, an affirmation of rights, and a step towards a world that treats youth with the respect they deserve.

Thank you for fighting alongside us. Together, we are stronger.

In struggle and solidarity,

Mohini Datta-Ray
Executive Director, Planned Parenthood Toronto
