Later today, for the second horrific year in a row, trans students in Ontario will be targeted by a well-organized and largely U.S.-funded protest aimed at attacking their very right to exist. This is not just a protest—it’s a cruel assault on our youth’s humanity, and it demands an urgent response from all of us.

Make no mistake—trans youth are under attack. Queer youth are under attack. These children are being forced to defend their right to be themselves. While cynical right wing leaders across Canada fuel these hateful movements hoping to make political hay off the backs of vulnerable children, we in Ontario must rise up and demand better.

We have a duty to hold Premier Doug Ford to his promise: to keep schools safe for all students. We will not stand by as hate and fear threaten the dignity of our youth.
