Workshop C: Anti-Homophobia Training for Service Providers Homophobia, heterosexism, discrimination against and harassment towards Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people represents a serious and pervasive problem in our society. This training session provides participants with a forum to examine myths and stereotypes and learn skills to apply to their everyday practice. The workshop will heighten understanding and awareness of the causes of homophobia and the importance of intervention. Participants will learn how to intervene in an incident of homophobic harassment and how to build capacity within work and program environments to challenge homophobia and heterosexism. |
