Call for Board Members

Do you have 8-10 hours to volunteer each month?

Planned Parenthood Toronto (PPT) is a fully accredited community health centre that provides primary health care services to youth 13 to 29 years as well as health promotion programming, education, training, and research to improve the health and wellbeing of Toronto’s diverse communities. We are currently seeking dynamic, committed, bright, community-oriented individuals to join the Board of Directors. The time commitment involved is approximately 8-10 hours per month, with in-person meetings typically held in the evening on the third Thursday of the month. This position starts in September 2020.

We are looking for you if you have a commitment to equity, youth-positivity, sex-positivity and pro-choice philosophy in your work or life and any the following qualifications:

  • Governance experience (policy board experience)
  • Legal expertise or experience an asset
  • Collaborative governance/systems thinking
  • Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism Work

Priority will be given to candidates who have affiliation with and/or familiarity of any of the following communities and issues:

  • 2SLGBTQ communities and issues
  • BIPOC communities and issues

A non-Board volunteer (which includes a program volunteer, student, or resident) who leaves their volunteer role must wait for a period of one year before applying to become a Board member. A staff member who resigns from their position must wait for a period of one year before applying to become a Board member.
